REMEMBERING A FACE
Electrofringe (TINA), Newcastle
2013
The exhibition focused on glitch imagery as a metaphor for our changing memories. Through constant contact with digital technology, we are quickly becoming accustomed to the digital aesthetic and sensory overload. This show explored the idea of authorship by using pre-existing imagery from the Internet and morphing it into work using 3rd party applications and smart phones, then putting the work back on social media and relinquishing control over the image, giving it a collaborative element. It included: digital gif animations on tablets, interactive glitched video and on-site glitched portraits.
